Jeyetik 2025 – Impact in Numbers (Doria Grant)

Core Support & Distribution

  • 150 core beneficiaries in Beirut and Mount Lebanon — primarily families supported for the past three years, including mothers and daughters — received sanitary pads covering up to 9 menstrual cycles each.

  • 110 young girls (Lebanese and migrant workers) received pads covering 2 cycles through SIDC.

  • Aid redirected through war zones using safe, informal networks — reaching IDPs in places like Jbeil and Tal Abbas.

Dispensary Points Established

  1. SIDC Centre, Sin El Fil

  2. Haret Hreik Dispensary

Awareness & Education

  • Developed and delivered an awareness session on:

    • Understanding period poverty

    • Female anatomy and menstrual health

    • Interactive learning activities

  • Laura Abou Zeid (Awareness Coordinator) led 10 sessions with Lebanese and non-Lebanese girls and women in Beirut, and trained others to replicate the sessions.

  • Collaborated with various Scouts groups and International College students.

Opportunities & Youth Engagement

  • Created flexible paid opportunities for Lebanese youth.

Knowledge Preservation

  • Compiled “Period Poverty in Lebanon: A Catalogue” — a repository of research and reports, including the landmark Female x Plan International study.

  • Included both scientific literature and grey literature.

  • In August 2020, there was barely any national discussion on period poverty (only Dawrati initiative existed).

  • By 2025, the topic reached mainstream media (e.g., MTV Alive) discussing menstrual equity and hyperinflation effects.

Knowledge Creation

  • Conducted interviews with leaders and experts, including:

    • Melie (Wing Women Lebanon – reusable menstrual products)

    • Maryam (Onoutha – SRH expert and family planning leader in Bekaa and beyond)
